Hello dear Modelers, I v done a robot concept and I made eyes with proboleans. My issue is that I had to connect edge into triangle and when I turbosmooth it, its become really ugly. Like that. Any way to fix it easily without redoing the mesh? Or even another, cleaner way of doing it instead of proboleans? Thanks in…
Do you have any attempts to show? However I'd go about it step-by-step. Begin by making the main block-out for the body of the scroll, don't think about cutting in holes yet. Get it to smooth nicely and then manually model the scroll, it's not really something you can do with modifiers, at-least not if you want it to be…
I have a bit of a problem I suppose. I'm modelling this knife: http://www.bladesmithsforum.com/index.php?showtopic=18633 Here is my model so far: I forgot about the circular part at the base of the knife that connects to the handle when I was modelling this. Should I start over? I didn't really think of the topology at the…
You do it the same way, here is how I do it in max, works just fine: Just make it all quads, then add your edgeloops with the connect tool... Also, any ideas on this? I tried splines for the ribs, but it looks like crap and is hard to get them consistent...…
I want to bevel this line of edges but I need the bevels to have different offsets at different edges, right now it is equal across the all the edges. The reference I want to achieve (you can see the bevels being bigger on the left and smaller down the right side of the gun): I have tried using the edge bevel (blue lines)…
My question what exactly you want to describe the top shape of this object? -->Is it circular or hexagonal? I mean the surface that 2 boxes extrude up from. See 2 cases below: * If it's hexagon, then logically there has to be pinch in transition between hex and circular. (IMO, It's about geometrical rule, where the angle…
First post, first stupid question..... I know for some of you 'THIS' problem is a silly thing to ask, but I am stuck right now and need your help here. Take a look at the pictures and the OBJ file. Hard_Soft_Edge_Connect.lxo I need to connect these two objects. I know that I do have too many edges on the inner object but…
Hi guys, ive reached a dead end and i cannot progress any further. IIts the bottom part of the handguard that gives me so much trouble. The curve at the bottom and the inset that ends with 2 edges connecting into a single vert. I tried extruding and using booleans but it just does not work. Please, tell me how do i even…
Thank you very much for the detailed and prompt explanation Frank (and apologies for my late reply). There's one thing thing I haven't quite understood though: What operator(s) was used to perform the first step in the final example you posted? To make the connecting mesh between the tab and curve diagonal? Some kind of…
You can extrude along a curve for those. You can find that option if you open the extrude options dialog. Make a curve snapped to the center vert at the origin and then use an ortho view to snap the rest of the points in and snap the last one to the center of the faces you want it to connect to. If you want it to be a…
