moltazia: thanks! i finished the higpoly and put some sloppy polypainting on it to try out the colours... not sure about the yellow though so will probably go closer to the concept. started out with the retopo and baking now, not super fun but hopefully i can start texturing soon.
I think your right about the cloth Goraaz, it should be falling down pretty much vertically from the hip. Will be trying to wrap the sculpt up tonight. Did a polypaint face test as well to make sure that the features will hold up once the character is texturerd properly.
Hi, I'm trying to paint polypaint (RGB) on my mesh (dynamesh) res 256. using texture template). I can't get the painting to work when I paint using my temnplate. I have colorize turned on. http://imageshack.us/a/img844/4048/n59d.jpg
@Brian "Panda" Choi Thanks man. The gilding was first sculpted in Zbrush using the masked edgeloop technique, just so I get to have the decor in a clean polygroup. Later I get the polypaint from polygroup to use as an ID map for texturing in DDO and Substance Painter.
This looks great man! I agree that the green is very oversaturated- but I think once you're able to get to texturing it, it will be easier for you to even it out as opposed to using polypaint. I love the face on his bow and the little polycount icon on his belt :P hehe.
This is my polypaint reaching it's end. Honestly, I feel as though at some point towards the end, it changed direction completely from what I wanted, It seems to look much more stylized now, and less serious than I had intended. Take a look at the difference.
Thanks cryid, I just started using group loops and loops from polypaint and im loving it, no need to retopologize there. Why wouldn't you use group loops for something like a bust or character given how much more time consume re-topo can be?
Also, feel free to bug me if you get stuck. =] I'd like to see you slap an AUV tileset on that dude and convert the polypaint to a bitmap, then use it to bake color from the high rez to a proper UVd low rez. Do you plan on doing that for this guy?
Hello guys, After a short break I am back with "Scary Minion" based on the concept art of Sir Dennis Carlsson, It's again full of enthusiastic working process. I used zbrush for sculpting & polypainting & keyshot for rendering. Please check more of my work here :-https://www.artstation.com/artist/rahulgarg
Hello Polycounters! This is my first forum post here, after being a logtime reader. :) So I downloaded Zbrush last night, and this is what came out so far. Thoughts? :) And, if anyone can referr me to a good polypainting tutorial, I'd be a happy chap! :D
