This is a great vid from Pat Crandley on the topic. He is using modo but it is a universal workflow and one you should learn from the offset. It can be a bit daunting at the start but it's like learning to ride a bike :poly136: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsa2jRHyV7M"]Texture Setup - YouTube[/ame]
Just picked this up two says ago. HOLY FUCK this game is AWESOME. I was like ok I will try it out for like 30min at 12 and next thing I know its 4am. Just bump incase anyone else hasnt seen the game yet, so addictive.
Seriously? Mayweather beating mosley decisively proves he's an amazing boxer? He hasnt fought in over a year, and got stomped by Cotto a couple fights ago. Mayweather is a badass and all, but this is just another bout in his trend of taking easy fights and refusing to face opponents of his caliber.
I think ratgpu uses path tracing, of course i could be very wrong, i havnt tested it myself. But i do have a love for unbiased path tracing engines :) Ok i was wrong, discovered so when i did read the topic title, sorry for that :P
It's great you're planning ahead, Maybe you should try to make blockout pieces first, pick out a camera angle or two that you'll want to show, and then go from there. Figuring out what you will need for your scene will be much easier that way and the whole thing will be less daunting.
Hey Raven, thanks for the advice, ill definately use some dino skele's for help referencing the body, i havnt had time to do much more yet though. For the head i will be using this image and a few others to get the "tyranid" look that most of the 40k models seem to have:
I think you could say he hasnt been as revolutionary lately as he has in the past, but i also think that would be akin to saying Buzz Armstrong is overated because he hasn't landed on any *other* moons lately. Fact is he is the frontmost pioneer in his field.
I havnt posted here in a while, but I got a free polycount shirt once so i figured i should post a free small 10 min tutorial i made. Warning: 80% of it switches between mumbling and whispering, and the other 20% is me saying the word "ughm" over and over. Tutorial: https://vimeo.com/163317848
Oh, hadnt seen this one. This is looking really great! Are you intending to give those big pilalrs with the green lines more detail, or perhaps darkening them a bit? In my opinion, they dont quite match the detail and finish the rest of the scene has. I really like the long bridge thing :)
If your talking about the upper center part around the middle piece i hadnt actually noticed how much darker and thicker the gap was between sections there. Thanks for pointing that out haha Tonight i'm going to start cutting in more detail then and try and model as much as possible for the norma map
