One of the most anticipated AAA title for me, and I'm a big fan of Quantic Dream's games. Already looks, feels and sounds so tempting. As a character artist myself, this game has the proper eye candy in that matter. ;D
GDC - Animating Dauntless. Worth checking out! He goes into how they use mocap for their stylized game, as well as using mocap on their creatures. Great talk. http://gdcvault.com/play/1024081/Animating-Dauntless-Slaying-AAA-Animation
Seriously best game ever. They went one further with this, making a ball have more character than most AAA films. Then they went even further and made the bloody walls have amazing character! I give up.
Thanks Tvidotto! About couriers, I'm leaving them to some AAA 3D artists friends of mine :P Anyways, If you want to do a courier let me know and I'll see what we can do ;)
I am a 3D Character and Hard Surface artist with 8+ years of AAA game production experience currently looking to do freelance work. My portfolio is available here: http://visenworks.blogspot.com Send inquiries to: chamadecg@gmail.com Thanks!
My attempt at creating a unique and memorable AAA-looking environment. UE4+SpeedTree. Next, I'll be sculpting an 'Angel of Grief' statue in ZBrush to replace the placeholder and creating some more ground materials and moss in Substance. All feedback is welcome!
"see a hell lot of tutorials for blender, but realised it doesnt help much for industry standards" parroting sheer nonsense. friends and senior artists I know of do work with FOSS on tent pole film and AAA game productions - heed oglu's advice, instead!
Thanks for comment. I use DirectX for it. I know the bake looks bad right now. I just want to know if polycount is right. I will work on it and remake the bake. And yeah, this asset is modeled for first person AAA intentions.
Sometimes I wonder for the people who feel this way, that Indies don't exist in their philosophy. Games like NS2 are an aberration versus a sign of a new outlook coming. Skankerzero is an example here proving that the corporate A/AAA is not our only choice.
Next-gen stuff has never attracted me, but I find I am doing more and more of it (which is natural in the AAA industry). That's why I'm going indie! I like lower-poly stuff with lots of painting.
