Yep, lemme post a very simple write up of how to fix it so you don't have to search through the thread too much: 1. Export your object as an *.ase BUT CHANGE THE NAME to be a unique new *.ase file, DO NOT save over your old one. 2. Import the new file that UT3 has not seen before (you can change it's name now to match the…
two old technique: 1) explode the mesh as mentioned before: separate the lowpoly mesh into two different leg, splitted where at the UV seam. Also split the highpoly too. 2) I've seen this in a old tutorial: select the faces near the seam (both low and highpoly) and change the material ID-s. Then at the baking process,…
@ TomGT : hahaha "Abraham Lincoln" I totally see that. hmm.... I am going to play with the hair style a bit try to come up with something a bit more contemporary that does not make him look so old. I don't mind him looking a little older but not grandpa old, and I have a feeling if I put hair on the more "chimp" version it…
ah, just for fun, I figured making an art test to restrictive guidelines is more of a realistic challenge than just going at it with unlimited amounts of texture and polys. My whole problem with the old model was the tri limit on the low poly mesh, I think I'll have another go for the old one now. I prefer it more too. and…
Dive, Thanks for detailed explanation )) I've got the point. i'll remeber to hit you for sure - if I decide to try this )) And as for "Max or Maya". When it comes to tell which software is better, I always see the same picture again and again. People quickly jump from "better software" to "better artist" and "with this…
So i visited my old stone fountain again and found out that some parts/designs are repeating over here.So in order to maximize my texel density and have a much better normal map, i thought of re-using my UV's. but one problem comes up if i re-use my UV's. How can i add more variation to the texture?. - I am thinking of…
Looking better! I'm starting to see some issues with UV scale and textile density now (or, maybe your texture is just blurry), but you might be too far along to fix that. The mirrored screen looks a bit better, it is WAY too clean for this dirty old machine though. It needs to be all scratched up with keys, sticker…
Yeah, but replacing the PSU is one of the cheapest options to replace if I want to SLI link later on. (Which I will, I am power hungry) I think I am all set here.. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3t0jD Went with the Xeon because I wouldn't know how to use the Igpu anyway :) Comes out to $1198.39 Which isn't too bad, bit over…
@Aveon I just want to point out some small things regarding your work so far :) ... hope it will be helpful. First of all the positioning and inclination of her neck. It's forming almost a perfect straight line with her back and that is creating a detriment for your model, resulting in the sensation that the chest area is…
Post your bake settings inside Blender, but my guess is your raycast is too shallow and it's causing those artifacts or that you're baking into 8bits instead of 16bits... Try baking with Cycles instead of the Blender Render too, see if that helps. You really don't have to use a cage for a model like this in my honest…
