[ QUOTE ] I think you're doing a great job on this one so keep it up. ...and there's no need to get stuck on one model just because you're learning along the way. If you're texturing you're texturing and it's just a pain to go back. This guy has a great video tut on skinning an orchish face. It should do - big download…
I wish I could put my own music in a game... but so far our projects are going in a very different direction. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMqmdfKqT5w"]bell crystal.wmv - YouTube[/ame] Otherwise I wish TwoStepsFromHell did soundtracks, and that you could license their music for that.…
That green stuff is Furite. It's pretty funny you guys mention the tiberium thing. One of the other guys in the group, the one who came up with all the backstory and stuff, is explaining what furite is: Buddy: Furite is a green crystaline mineral that is highly corrosive, leaches into the enviroment and mutates all living…
Thats some fair crits. I think i want to get rid of the hooves and maybe give him some armoured footwear and maybe some chunky gauntlets. A different hairstyle/crystalised or fragmented horns might look cool. I still want to keep some of his features and sharpness so he's still recognisable but you're right, I'll work into…
The shape of the blades looks pretty much the same to me. You just need to paint the crystalline forms into the texture, although you could probably make them look rather nicer than the concept you've got there without a great deal of effort.
One of the things I found most helpful is to figure out the actual geology of the rocks you're trying to model and look up reference of them. Even if you're doing something fantastical and imaginary, refer to real-life rock formations for how the small details form and layer together. Cracks, striations, layers,…
I think the voxel step is cool! I'm not sure if I'm keen on the drag-brush cracks step, as that seems to break any crystalline structure/flow that you had in the sculpting stage. I'd rather do those cracks by hand. But I'm certain going to give starting in 3d coat a try.
My humble contribution ^^ Feel free to do whatever you want with it! (but you don't forget to quote ^^ ) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/68294787/Crystal.rar
