Update: I've baked the normal map and applied to low poly. I've baked it at 2048 x 1024, but my browser or photo host is resizing it to 1024 x 512. Crits/comments are appreciated. :)
So you mean lay the uv's out in a rectangle 2048 wdth 1024 ht scale em into a square 1024 then Bake? Sorry bit of a noob. Could I use uv'channels? Thanks

What about the pre-2004 forums? Can you find those? I can't remember the url. boards.polycount.net doesn't seem to do anything either, but that may have been post 2004 anyway.

Originally created for a competition over at www.game-artist.net But my concept got disapproved.. Original specs are 1000 triangles and 1024^1024 texture maps.. but since the concept got disapproved I wont be fearing going over the limit. I'll use those specs as guidelines tho'

@shaderfx do I need to download this plugin? I have Maya 2014, but I don't see it in my Plug-in Manager list. Am I able to download or get the plugin for Maya 2014?
