Yeah, I had to average and unlock the normal's of each file As for this cage file and using it, I can't find any documentation on autodesk knowledge. It just doesn't exist for Maya.
With the autodesk fbx exporter, you have also a collada exporter. I dont know if its already there for Maya 2014. Have the fbx plugin installed and choose DAE_FBX export.
I prefer Blender with a few uv addons . Imo it's still the most simple and streamlined UV unwrapping tool although Autodesk copied all its advanced approaches finally.
I am not a lawyer but I think it is up to adobe/autodesk/whoever to police the software licenses to their stuff. I don't think valve sees it as their problem. They are just a store front.
That indeed is true... I found a license, "Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate 2013 -Student and Faculty Pricing" - 233,70 But that's not free :D ______________________________________________________________ Hey man! Who are you? :P
turns out it was the nitrous viewport's fault....with directx display everything works fine. autodesk, you know... they "fix" one thing, break ten in the process. thanks for the replies everyone!
watched the vid, nice work - helps cut substantial uv/unwrapping times, though i was wondering if renderhead has put any thoughts into the other autodesk platform - 3dsmax?
You need to install a translated version of Max. I think Max is published in English, French, German, and Chinese, but there might be others. Contact Autodesk to find out if Dutch is supported.
the 3DSmax.ini file for max9 is now in C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\9 - 32bit. good luck! cheers, Rom
