Eric: "_noshadows.fx" is the max 9 version, the technique is SM3 and it's the same machine. Revel:I'm using the old shader on max 9 because i get errors with 1.5 (only works with max 2008+ i believe). I would've used 3PS light, but again i'm screwed. The ghetto workaround is importing a max 9 scene with shader applied =/.
Current project that is work in progress: Pasadena Automag 180 I'm done with the low poly and UV's with the gun. I'm splitting it in 3 different parts and pieces as I plan to show the internals while partially disassembled and make variants of some pieces like different lengths of the barrel, grips and some custom mods…
I would say that's just how it is. There will be probably a difference in the grid density if you compare the hands or feet to the body. On the other hand you probably add some edge loops that come from the limb, circle the joint of limb and body about maybe 180 degree and flow back along the limb. So at least I don't know…
Eric, you are correct, the seam is less visible but it`s still there. If you increase the Multiplier/Strength value from 1.0 to 1.5 in 3Point Shader, the seam gets more obvious. I also imported the lowpoly into xNormal, applied the bake and the seam is still not gone. Also tried the bake in Fallout New Vegas getting the…

It's not first time in 3D: I'm in all 3D from 1.5 year, but now I have some inspiration and motivation to do something. About scale, yeah, you have right. Can someone tell me what photobucket doing while uploading to them my renders? I render that scene in 1920x1280, and PB scale it to 1024x768. Anyone know something about…
The fix was swapping red and green channel on the normal. That was the only difference between the piece being rotated 90 and the one rotated 180. You should only do the swap on a piece that is getting rotated 90 degrees, anything more and lightmap spec will get broken again. Could you throw up a screen shot so we can see…
Due to popular demand, i'm releasing the cleaned up version of my foliage systems project files + a user guide on how to change it to make it work with other foliage. I also wrote a small paper on my thought process of solving interactions with foliage. which you can download here (181 mb): https://drive.google.com/open……
taking a shot at perspective with this refless desert scene, featuring Raoul Duke and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo. "One toke? You poor fool! Wait till you see this goddamn monolith." experimenting around with the lasso tool. please forgive me for the nightmare-inducing face. ref Snake anno 1885. i tried to achieve a…
I figured it out after many more hours of kadoodling with it. In Maya I didn't smooth the normals correctly which I think was throwing the normal map off. Instead of using "smooth edges" I had to set the normal angle to 180 degrees on all the faces (which is the exact same thing, but oh well), then re-exported the FBX.…
