Ẁe did it! Thanks to everyone that helped me hit 100% But I still have 28 hours left and I dont intend to quit yet. Im making a new environment as a final showcase for you guys, Here is a sneak peek
While you're right about UDK having a larger community and that more studios are using it, you're definitely wrong about Crytek being the only ones using CryEngine. http://cryengine.com/showcases It's not a lot, but it's going to grow significantly in the coming years.
Thanks for the comments! Here's an update of the asset in UE4. I wanted to make a scene to showcase my game asset, so I built a small environment to give some context. [Credit] - The Trees, Rocks and Foliage assets are made by Epic Games.
Ha! Threw him in UDK with my pokeball just for kicks and giggles! UPDATE* Also, I would like to clarify that the scene that Blastoise is not mine. It's the UDK Foliage Showcase. All assets other than blastoise and the pokeball are property of Epic Games.
^ True, but a portfolio is a showcase of YOUR work. Its unnecessary putting it in your portfolio, and it will most likely confuse future employees. If you have a 3d environment portfolio, its very unlikely that you don't know how to build a scene with prefabs.
I did this comp to showcase the model, I added a few things and still plan to add more. This is rendered in Marmoset. I would really appreciate professional feedback in order to improve rendering, lighting and composition. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/wZVx6
All awesome points gentlemen . I have decided since this will be portfolio piece to showcase my skills and to learn from I will do a fresh piece. Big thanks to beefaroni for linking me to some im going to go with this server room
Definitely take a look at the portfolio link lotet posted, there is a lot of great advice in that article that can be put to use on your website. Beyond that, I would focus your portfolio on showcasing some of the basic skills you've listed on your resum
Nice work! I also think that the lighting could be improved a lot. You have a nice looking character, but the lighting does not showcase it well. Also, if you want to push it further, you could work on a facial expression. Keep it up! :)
ya, i almost forgot about the model showcase on the right. Getting your stuff up on that front page was great feeling. this new plan looks great, should really propell the community back and raise some standards 'round these parts!
