I also find a way to create "low poly round corners", I think this can help in cases where you can't use normal maps (e.g. at tileable-texture objects): 1. Simple Corner 2. Apply Champfer Modifier 3. An RGB image is 3 channels of 8bit grayscale images for the red, green, and blue channels. You can see them in photoshop if you want. Adding an alpha channel is going to increase that to 4 channels, or effectively increase the texture size by 1/3rd. If you use a 1bit alpha it's much less wasteful as its only a 1 bit… -

Man thats a great argument, but good luck :) Not that I work in the industry or anything but I have 2 PC's I work on. The one can take up to 3 hours to get an AO map out of MAX or Xnormal, yet my other PC can do the same amount of work in 1/4 the time. Also, I can multitask on the faster PC while I cannot on the slower… -

From what I can gather… 1) I think this has something to do with the average playable area maybe. You will see that locations you are usually in are fine, but once you go off the track, the resolution drops. My first thought was that this maybe had something to do with further away textures could take up more UV space…
