for me, it's not really 'what I want to be'. It's more 'what I want to do'. I want to tell my own stories with my own characters one day either through game, comic, or other media.
Picking up a cover is alright as long as you don't pretend like your reinventing the wheel. I remember a guy got in trouble for lifting an entire comic (think it was from/to x-force), every panel and pose.

Не, но съм слав... Another one, I do make these for FUN, as my commercial work in comics takes up most of my time, I like to do art I enjoy in my free time.
Hello everyone, I started this awhile ago for the comic-con challenge but got really busy at work. Its really my first attempt a sculpting a female character. Here's the base for now. Proportions still feel a bit off but cant put my finger on it.
Really awesome concepts, the owlman reminds me of the court of owls from the batman comics. If you havent checked that out yet, I would suggest doing that. They are called the court of owls or look up the talon.
Not really something I'm doing for Halloween but thought I'd post it as its pretty incredible! http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/dc-comics-joker-comes-life-eye-popping-pumpkin-223308623.html
Well, this Krita flatting filter is pretty much the opposite of what I am looking for :) But I see what you mean in the sense of comic book flatting having similar challenges to that of ID-based texturing.
I tend to make illustrations and comics to take a break from the 3D stuff so I figured I'd post a couple I did recently. The first one was a gift for a friend. The second was more of a plea.
cool man! have any of you ever been to a place called Forbidden Planet? my girlfriend wants me to go there and pick up some crap for her, but it is fairly cool if you're into comics and collectables.
