Doing an exploded bake. Going around in circles...I kept all settings default. Whatever info you all need about my setup I can give. This is my UV Map This is my bake output. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
So I need to give these fur areas (circled in red) transparency. Does anyone happen to have suggestions for making the alpha map specifically for fur to retake hair ends without the fur looking too soft. programs I have for this: 3D coat and photoshop

Deselect all faces, then pack. Also, put a grid texture on your model. These grids are better than the default Checker: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Texture_Coordinates#UV_Map_Grids If you use a grid with circles, it will be easier to see distortions, and pixel sizes.

Well, that sounds like the way I went about doing it. I started with a 20 sided circle whose radius fit snug in the grid in my scene as a guide. I'm looking into interesting ways I can take this concept.
