Osipas concepts of the Rig UI and how he breaks down Shapes into "subshapes", are still valid, even if you use bones instead of Blendshapes (as I do). These concepts have of course evolved over time, so I can recommend buying and reading his book.
I've been using a standing desk for about a year and a half. (It's actually an art desk set to max height on both sides.) If you read online testimonials carefully, you'll see that the people who actually use standing desks don't have to be there throughout the day. Almost all of them sit at some point. Pros: - Back feels…
Nice Brent :) Still chugging along on the basics. I'm probably going to take a break from time intensive busts and study the planes of the face, the little I read into it proved very helpful! Thought I'd just post the "finished" piece as an edit, because it's the same model.
If you get stuttering try going into the console and type: mat_queuemode 0 I had a similar problem on my work computer (during lunch breaks!) with L4D1 and that command helped. I read in a thread it disables multicore support which for some reason can cause stuttering.
Just so there is no confusion, there is a work around to import one singular mesh. Check out this thread at the UT3 Forums: Character thread Its pretty long read through, but if you're interested in getting a singular mesh into the engine this is where to start. They are breaking through with some interesting stuff.
Texture changes are only viewable on the manipulator's machine; I doubt there's much of a way it can be detected by the server. But I have read of recent instances where changing a texture and reimporting it has caused WoW to break, so there may be some kind of integrity check by the prog itself.
Kurt Busiek and Cary Nord lured me in when they launched a retelling of Robert E. Howards Conan stories in Darkhorse comics. Then they left for a while, others tried to continue it and it just wasn't the same, so I checked out the original REH novels.... I've reread everything he wrote 2 or 3 times now. So I'm going to…
So I'm taking a break from my environment project and I wanted to work on a weapon. I just wanted a little piece to add to my portfolio. I mixed those designs and shapes to make something more or less on my own. I didn't want an overkill design, something quite clean and simple. I added a little touche of my own, on the…
Dox, it's your project, I say do whatever keeps you learning. If getting the perfect bake is so frustrating that you feel like you don't want to work on your project anymore, get on to texturing and just finish the damn thing! And as long as you keep the same UVs you can try to bake again later down the line after it's…
