agree to all above, plus I would say that pipes and concrete semi-pillars (house on the right side) r too clean and white. Pipes especially need more rust and dirt where they intersect with horisontal extruded sections of the building. But yes, the image is still nice
there is some excellent stuff on that site. so, are you saying i can use photos for parts that it will work for but if it has a particular lighting direction visible in the image or glare or large extruded areas that produces large shadows and comeoff as flat i should use hand-drawn stuff?
Way too much sharpening. A lot of the materials also look very flat (especially the ground and roof tiles), either use a parallax effect for the flatter surfaces or cut and extrude along the material shapes to give them depth.
Ok I´ll do that.^^ Thanks, but alpha-planes dont look like the cartoon-style I want. I dont know exactly what you mean.To extrude some more strands from higher up?
@LUCOSPADE : Thx buddy! =) well honestly i just did a cube in maya and rolled it by extruding it and placed it by hand, then i imported it to zbrush and moved it around and did some sculpting, very easy method. @Sabotage : Thx man! =)
Sean.. that tape is just a plane wrapped arround the grip using edge extrude in max.. with a shell modifier on top. Just add a couple segments and move them and that makes the tape have wrinkles. A-train: johny uses max.
[ QUOTE ] You can also just place the needle on top of the cylinder instead of extruding it from the center to save more geometry... [/ QUOTE ]There is no needle on a IIDX controller. This is simply a controller for a game guys. This isn't a real-life mixer.
so you traced the image with splines an extruded? i guess it works for this, i would make it much thinner tho if you dont plan to do any detail to the sides,, make it more like cut out plywood
you can kinda get around it a by extruding (instead of chamfering) the edge with a height of 0 and then welding the middle edge to one side, you will have to stretch the edge uvs a little bit after but it should make things easier.
hahaha i was thinking the same thing, i was just wondering how would i model the hiar?as you can see i just extruded it and welded the uneed verts. edit: lol love your paintover :P
