For Maya: Create a CV curve that outlines the path of your laces. Create a Nurbs Circle, and attach it to the end of the curve (Fast way: Hold D+C while dragging it on top of the curve) Go to the Surfaces toolset, open the Surface menu and select Extrude
For anyone wondering, the large green circle indicates that he toggled the auto-corner, allowing him to make an extreme curve where it would normally make a corner. Makes it a lot more flexible with the shapes you can create. 10000% pumped for this to be finished.
Sorry "blobby" wasn't really the best word to use. In the circled area there is a strange shadow, the green metal gets dark as it nears the corner. Either breaking it up into more smoothing groups, or if you are using the smooth modifier, reducing the threshold can help.
Setup like you did in the first image but use 'move' instead of 'scale', no need for masking. Just take into account that it will move both sides of the cylinder towards the pivot point on the right of the line (if you are moving the circle on the left side of the transpose line).
art school stuff. back to basics- circles and lines, and life drawing. exterminate all style. build a strong foundation. maybe not too fun, but thats life. should pay off in the end! sorry for the poor photos, and even poorer handling of charcoal
check out the graphite tools. there are some awesome tools in there. Geopoly is a personal favorite. it turns any n sided polygon into a perfect circle for the startup script have you tried entering expert mode and re enabling the ui parts you want.
you see where some circles are connected to strips? that is unnecessary - you can break them off and put them somewhere better, like all the small pieces in a corner together or something. right now they are making awkward shapes that are hard to pack.
a game based around setting up the stage for a medieval hero would be pretty fun tbh. undoing all of your progress in secret to clean up your own heroic acts so another hero can arise... very circle of life
Well good star, but you over did it with the textures. There is way to many scratches. The red circled area's have to many scratches, that are not there on the reference pic. As well as the green, that black/brown drips/scratches need to go, they look bad and are not on the reference pic either.
The weapons are less accurate. Still, use the Iron Sights and don't run. If you run the sights get more bouncey. If you can fire prone, they are less bouncey but yeah the C.E.P. (Circle of Error Probability), is a lot wider than reality. Scott
