If you look at the localmaps that came with doom3, they pack a silly amount of data into the texturespace- this model is 422 tris, with a 512x256 texture (it's squished into 0-1 in the uv view here)
I forgot to pre-load on my work computer for lunchtime gaming with my boss and co-workers! Arrgg, currently downloading at 420 kb/s though, so hopefully it finishes by 12. STEAM: EvilViking13
She can't have Win7 and a Mac... well, you CAN, but not from factory. And it would completely defeat the point of buying a Mac. Screw getting a Mac. You can go to a Best Buy and get just about any laptop in the store for less than $1000. Personally, I've been looking at something from this list:…
Holy crap there's some sweet stuff in the last few days. Ajax, that model is amazing. Ruz, I'm learning sweet shit through your thread in tech forums. Not much different on this update. But I fixed a massive amount of normal issues (thanks to learning in Ruz's thread). I think the bake is finally clean enough to move on to…
ah crap. It sas just pointed out to me that the original author made a huge mathematical error: $825,000,000,000 / 200,000,000 = $425 Still, I'll take my $425 now please :p
[ QUOTE ] 6800's are already a dying line, anyways. Popping in 2 7900GTX cards in SLI would be double the framerate, easily. 2 7900GTX's cards are actually MORE than double what my 6800GT OC 420/1.15 can do. If you want the best, it's certainly not cheap. But it's worth it, if that's what you're into. [/ QUOTE ] Are you…
If your goal is to get a massive e-cock from your texture memory just make sure you get a card thats actually fast enough to allocate that much memory, i've seen 512mb 6800s perform the same as 128 mb 6600gts... I wouldnt outright go for SLI off the bat, thats more of an upgrade thing. Wait for a game to be released that…
Must say that I have a hard time getting away from this, last post I thought that I would do something else for a while... But anyways, here are tonights last update. Should probably gather my posts up next time... Added some details to engine block, last stuff will be made with photoshop instead. Also added timing chain…
Got my geo pretty well roughed out and am happy with the current design. The pink area is where the player can walk, with a little guy to indicate scale. The squares are a dock/pier. Cut my base geo into separate parts for texturing, top, middle, and bottom. Figure that there will be 3 tiling textures and 2 transition…
