Lightmass is CPU only? Wow. No wonder it felt so slow even when I upgraded my GPU in 2016. Good thing I keep mental ray around since it still has the option to bruteforce lightmaps using gpu rendering.
Hi felipefrango, What you are describing is currently not possible but could surely be implemented. In fact, I will make it an official 0.6 target. I was thinking about it before, when I was adding the alpha channel support. I am always open for suggestions
Ah that's cool! It's annoying that I couldn't find an announcement about this feature, from a quick search all I found was an old forum post from 2016 saying it was experimental, and alembic abc listed on their import formats page. Cheers for your solution!
I tried to open this python script in Maya 2016 and it gave me back : "# Error: line 1: unexpected indent # " This tool looks cool unfortunatly i can't try it :D I usef to work with rapidrig which is an amazing tool for bibed !

Olingova: Thanks! :) So, these impact particles I created back in 2016, and they were intended for human scale - but later I will revamp them to be more scale appropriate. Performance is pretty good - I run on GTX 970 and have no issues so far.
