Zbrush Surfacing
So i've been playing around with the more advance surface noise tools in the new release of Zbrush, however I still can't get the x/y/z angle/offset/scale controls to actually make any difference. I'm literally adjusting the slider and expecting to see it update but it dosn't seem to change. Anyone know if i'm missing a… -

Resym is pretty finicky about geometry. I suspect it's not going to help you much there. Mirror and Weld on X and Z might be a better bet. Interestingly enough Zbrush exports the cage out with groupings on, even though I have it turned off. I sew the uvs in maya and export it back into zbrush and it turns grps on again with off scaling attributes under the Export option. Scale 1.1067 x Offset -0 x Offset 2.3231 z Offset .0382 -

Yes it can. In some cases you can build a high and low assets entirely in Z, using maya/max only for setting up proper scale. It's not always the most productive way of building your model, but Zbrush been evolving rapidly over last few years, hell, even Zremesher was introduced not long ago. -
