I´ve spent several months working on this so I will say that this was my quarantine project instead of some 3d work. For years I´ve seen a lot of people selling and or using 4k or even 8k textures, more related to workflows that involve the final rendering in Vray, Arnold, Octane... Maybe I´m the only one who still no uses… -

Just a little Update, I found that Mirror table, available here, seams to be working good! The creator does not guaranty that it will work for 2016, but so far, everything is running smoothly. I'll be looking into more auto-rigging tools, but for now, I think this will be working for me! :D -

IMHO, whilst this is good news, it should be funded through Blender Foundation (or an official channel therein) so as to provide some reasonable expectations by way of guaranty to completion. -

You can only edit the normal that you paint via the height channel, which is later converted as a normal map and combined with your input normal map. The only way for the moment (kinda "hacky") would be to load your map as a regular basecolor/diffuse texture and paint over it, but you don't have any guaranties it will be…
