@Solmas I will try to add more to him thank you @JadeEyePanda Yep here is an older version of the sculpt. the face should all be the same except for the ears. (I would render out the current high poly and upload it but I am away from my desktop) Im rendering in marmoset toolbag 2 And I will give them a look, thank you.
Good thing you accidentally bumped this thread JadeEyePanda! And thank you for posting again this year .polygon. Managed to apply just in time! I received a call last year from a Disney Interactive internship/co-op recruiter expressing interest, but unfortunately I was unable to reach them again. Keeping my fingers crossed…
I've gotta say, JadeEyePanda, you're really taking all of this critique in-stride. Definitely handling it the best way possible right now ;) I noticed that the head sorta sits on the collar of the space-helmet, whereas in the reference the head is almost perfectly centered. This may also give the illusion of her looking…
Dimfist - Thanks. I wasn't sure how he would feel about me posting his pic for comparison, but it is pretty impossible to gauge a caricature w/o seeing the actual person. JadeEyePanda - Yes, those are just planes w/ a double sided texture w/ alpha for the curls and a painted hair texture on the base mesh beneath for the…
The Crease tool might be useful to tighten up the insides of the knots in your wood there. You should also play with offsetting some of the stones of the well. Having a few stones slightly deeper or protruding will help the silhouette break away from a perfect cylinder shape. I also agree with JadeEyePanda. This piece…
thers a few options tho JadeEyePanda is spot on the subject. King has a website dedicated to sculptural anatomy and a youtube account with free stuff https://www.youtube.com/user/rkingslien or these guys, I absolutely love their new book ! https://www.anatomy4sculptors.com/ But drawing tutorials can help as well, Proko…
i second JadeEyePanda, but i'll add the following on lighting: overall it's really cool, however i'm left wondering where the red light actually "is" in the scene. i would assume it's coming from the hand casting the magic and yet the opposite side at the top of the head is being lit... it just looks a little off. other…
@Hellfang132 Thanks buddy! I checked out your work and it looks pretty awesome! @JadeEyePanda I mainly used other peoples ingame screencaps of Ellie as references (I don't actually own the game myself). However none of these were direct front or side shots so I had to extrapolate the facial structure which would explain…
@Dethling: I would totally switch to Unreal Engine 4 from the awesome deal they have for it, however I don't think the specs for my laptop could handle it. @JadeEyePanda: I can put my work in-progress screenshots up and see what you all think. When I render from Maya to do this, should I use Maya Software or Mental Ray?
@JadeEyePanda Hmm, Not sure if you're talking about the concept or Motoko. With Motoko I wasn't aiming for a full on anime style as I'm fairly new to sculpting faces and wanted to keep her semi realistic looking. But if you're talking about the concept I'm planning to go realistic and using Kiko Mizuhara as my reference…
