Thanks @Lucas Annunziata! I do digital work sometimes but I also collaborate with a metal foundry sometimes as well. I'll be posting a big write-up about this project at some point today's work.. L. 4.19.2016
The Foundry put A LOT of work in their software, I mean they create some amazing unique tool but the price... at least 10k per licence for the Nuke / Mari / Modo workflow is way too expensive for small / mid budget studio

Also, you shouldn't be learning Unreal. If you're gonna get into film. You should be rendering your work. And one more tip. You might wanna check out Mari for 3d texturing. They are mainly for film. Plus it works well with Modo since it's by the Foundry
@Elowan, I recommend joining the MODO Slack channel, which is fairly active these days: https://join.slack.com/t/foundry-modo/shared_invite/enQtMzc1OTUzOTk1NDkyLTRhMDdiOTI0MzU4ZmY3N2UyMDYwYjM3YTZjOWQxMGVjZGVhM2I0YjA1ZTc0MDk1NDA1MmVkOGYxNGY2ZGQwNzk Have you posted in the MODO Community Forums?…
Modo should have never ventured into territory outside of modeling; beyond modeling all other areas are weak. Strictly speaking modeling in Modo is it's only strength. The Foundry should branch it off as a modeler charge a yearly fee that is reasonable and offer it as an alternative to the full feature modo.
yes, that is a great feature of zbrush and is definitely something to consider for students and people on a tight budget. it would be nice if autodesk had a more reasonable upgrade policy. but the foundry and others are just about the same. i don't think they will give that up unless they all drop there upgrade prices at…
Hi dmj, Edit to original post: We're still in the process of figuring out the details for future releases, but will let you know when we have an update. 8) Brandon R. Reddick MODO/MARI Indie Advocate The Foundry Try not. Do or do not, there is no try. ~Master Yoda
I actually contacted The Foundry customer support and specifically asked if I could use it both at home and at work. They basically said yes, as long as I am the only one using the license and told me to make sure to uninstall if I ever left the company.
This, at least for modeling (Maya for animation). The main negative for Modo is probably that Luxology ignored game artists almost completely. The last release really pissed off some of their fans in that field as a result. But hopefully with the recent changes in leadership (to The Foundry) some changes in direction will…
