Check out the refurbished section on the Wacom site. These are often ones that were ordered and returned. http://www.wacom-shop.net/cgi-bin/wacom.storefront/480725df00ac692a273f4ddcef260647/Catalog/1020 I bought my USB Graphire from there about 3 years ago to replace my serial port one, and it's been perfect.
Damit, had to go and troll those nasty steam forums again (there are hundreds of posts on selling it, eugh) It is kind of odd, the general concensus seems to be that you can transfere your HL2 licence from one steam account to another steam account, however to do so on the retail version you have to transfere your cd key…
@Oblastradius Haha I read people were using about 100-120 8192 X 8192 textures in avatar on one CGI character One side of a hand = a patch of 8k I dont remember correctly, it was in the 3D world magazine or so, may be another movie, but it was something along these lines of ridiculous
I know it is a saturated market but when it comes down to it I have never wanted to do anything else as a career. You just have to keep pushing and trying until something comes up. As for a plan B im not even sure what I would consider, I guess something in CGI.
an open letter to Senator Clinton from Steven Johnson, author of "Everything Bad Is Good for You: How Today's Popular Culture Is Actually Making Us Smarter" well worth you time to read it: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/07/29/EDGQCDUQ071.DTL
It still exists. It's what the war cartoon I posted yesterday was about. Each time I finish those assets in CGI, I remodel them again for PS1 so I can post them here. But I'm making the scenes first so the PS1 stuff follows after it a bit later.
Finished the face. I decided to take a little different approach from the CGI verison from the trailer and tried to stick more to the face model and just applying aging to it. Additional pictures at https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Z3OmG Next stepp is going to be to start with the clothing. I might revision the skin…
Currently i am between 2 options. 1 is to upgrade my pc 2 is to buy Wacom Cintique 27 QHD Thinking what would support my path in the CGI field more. I do like to sculpt but same time i like also VFX in houdini. hard decision
I like the work you did, the environment is well structured, I think the bloom effect was a little much for my taste as it took away from the photoreal look just a bit. I was watching the video and wanted to get lost in the reality but the bloom (over exposure) kept telling me it was cgi. Loved it tho....
illustration and/or vfx/cgi for film, + indie dev is another option I reckon. Done too many mundane jobs when I was young, take the best from them but I don't feel the urge to do that again; my brain would fizz up and overflow like a particularly rebellious bottle of beer.
