Geo Poly, for NGons Circle Loop for loops. I prefer this script though. it does the job of both the max functions contextually.

Looking better. I usually angle the loops to the sides of the center loop the other way on knees and elbows. But that may just be me.

i would add another loop to the shoulders, elbows and atleast a half loop on the knees, other than that its looking great.

the spiral on the arm scrolls needs to be bigger and less noisy. I wouldn't have it loop around as much, maybe 2 loops.

Cut tool for basic cutting; swift loop tool to insert and move loops and quick slice to cut from outside of the mesh.

what is the error? (it might be having problems with too many for-loops) try removing the loops and do only one sample as a test.

For loops in shaders only exist if you're developing for the Xbox 360. So the lack of a for loop just reflects the underlying properties of HLSL.

I would add 2 extra loops around the oval inset, on the flat part of the geometry, and terminate some edge loops there.
