Select vert a, select vert b, Alt+M > L (weld at last) A few things to keep in mind here: - The app is very clever when it comes to component selection. You don't have to click exactly on a vertex but rather, just somewhere close to it. This will make you much faster. - The manipulator is not very useful and often gets in…
I'm trying to use Blenders lasso select (ctrl+lmb) was wondering if it's possible select all encompassed faces instead of just the ones the user can see? Right now I have to switch to wireframe mode every time I want to lasso select, otherwise backfaces and such are completely ignored. Also would be nice if there was a way…
Xray just adds one more step (switching modes) *and* is unnecessary anyways. The misconception (in the mind of "engineer types", like the ones in the dev thread who think this would be "error-prone") likely comes from the assumption that people want to precisely select back faces. It's just isn't the case. Being able to…
Vertex weights should show up on the "n"-panel item tab, it's hidden if you don't select a vertex and it only show the last selected vertex, dosn't work for box select etc. It's quite weird or I just don't understand it correctly, but I would expect to see averaged values and being able to make changes for the whole…
Just to add one more quick way of doing this: * Select edges or faces where the average normal of your selection is the direction you want to extrude * Press Shift + 7 (num pad) to align the camera to the normal of the selection * Extrude in screen space and press middle mouse button if needed to snap to the common axis *…
Thanks for the answer. It works as expected. Some points I'd like to point out to see if they are in Blender in any shape or form: -The way it works is that it needs to be executed each time a new selection is made. There is no toggle option for this to always have it on? -Doesn't support edge or vertex selections? The…
@rollin 1 - can you show an example? Selecting for me in Blender is much more accurate than my main program(Max) 2 - you've lost me on this one. G is the universal hotkey for grab(move) Have box select active>select components>hit G to move them. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting your intentions.
Thats it, thanks a lot! There does not seem to be an option to align the rotation of the cursor to a selected face in that menu. Do you happen to know a shortcut to align the cursor so it is rotated perpendicular to a selected face?
The feature itself exists (in the newest Alpha I am using), it is usable via sub-menu with Select -> Select More/Less -> Next Active. It works by clicking this menu-item. There just isn't a shortcut for this listed in the Preferences, or I was unable to find it. It might just be missing due to the fact its still an alpha…
