@pior I think I tried this recently. Just use Textools, create the uv mesh. Then select the uvmesh and the original mesh. Go to Object-Make Links- Transfer uvmaps. Assign the original mesh material to the uvmesh. Should work fine.
Hi everyone, I created new UIs for Blender 2.81+ focused on reducing eye strain that are the spiritual successor of the Amarant and Greentooth themes. Its available as red, green and blue accent colors. You can get it now on gumroad or artstation. :)
Ctrl+Shift +/- If you watched my vid on selections you would know this. :D :D For origin to bottom I just use Maxivz Quick Pivot. Also, Qblocker allows you to create objects with the origin at the bottom, the same as Max.
I think I found a similar solution from xNormal. I'll just generate a simple AO with zero edge padding. It also creates a mask texture, which is nice for selecting the boundaries of pixels. But thanks for the tip, might be even better.
Is there a blender tutorial mega thread? If not can we create one where members post links to blender tutorials. We can sort them by things such as Character modelling, environment modelling, texturing, rigging etc. Also free vs paid.
There is absolutely no need for your lowpoly mesh to be the level0 of your highpoly. Just use whatever highpoly modeling technique that is the best suited to the specific needs of the given asset you are working on, and bake that to an appropriately built lowpoly model created especially for that purpose.
@derphouse Very useful addon, looking forward to checking it out. A small suggestion. In your video, is the cage created using the Shrink/Flatten tool? it would be nice to have an Even Thickness checkbox in the UI, like the one seen in the Solidify modifier.
I recorded this video, sorry that without a sound. 3ds max Flow Connect https://youtu.be/ag5yY0kPIcg and Set Flow, this tool works same like Flow Connect but not create geometry, but work with existing geometry. https://youtu.be/WYHpPo9njLk sorry for my english
Ha, interesting - never looked that deeply into that. Unfortunately neither Reflection Cubemap or Irradiance Volume seem to do anything for me - so I suppose that there is some required pre-processing involved. The Reflection Plane does work though (creates a mirror), but that's about it.
Hey @FourtyNights , I can feel your pain and only encourage you to report the problems to us (best is to write a little doc or to create a screencast with the flaws and tell us about it on the mailing list) - our development is heavily user driven, the best tips come from frustrated users ;) We always love to have feedback…
