@CharlieD: The new Marmoset does support opacity maps. You need to: 1. Place the opacity map in the alpha channel of your diffuse texture and save it as a 32bit TGA. 2. Turn on either Use Alpha Testing and slide the Alpha Threshold to the right until it works. or Turn on Use Alpha-to-Coverage. 3. (possibly optional) Change…
hi EarthQuake, my maya 8.5 crash after i copied the marmoset stooge exporter to the plugins folder, and can't be open anymore, even after i delete the stooge exporter file, do you know what happen? or should i try it with maya 2009? really appreciate your help :)
Been messing around with Marmoset, I found out about inverting the green channel, but I'm not sure if the lighting is looking right...? Vahl's models and EQ's guns looking really cool and I've learnt about the sensitive spec and to use darker diffuse maps. Maybe its something wrong with my model.
Isn't it looking different on the other side because of the light direction? You can change the light direction by holding shift and moving it around. Also I think your tangent map wasn't appearing correctly because it was baked in max. I think you needed to invert the green channel for it to show correctly in Marmoset.
Sasuki: You can, but this must be in one OBJ file. Ben Apuna: It's not a sprite, it's normal mesh. My friend told me, marmoset has problems with alpha and that explain everything.. so.. ok ^^ life Another question.. is some solution for moire effect on shadows? And another one: how to achieve shadows like this hand
Your object's UVs do not match your unwrap. Your object appears to be using a default unwrap (flattened out, one seam from pole to pole, sawtooth cuts at the top and bottom of the map from where the mesh meets at the poles). Marmoset is displaying this the same way that max/maya/anything else would.
Hey guys, I'm having some big problems so here I am :). Not sure of the exact problem, but I have huge marmoset problems, to the point where it prevents people from properly critiqing my work (see here: http://www.game-artist.net/forums/finished-projects/11401-p38.html ). So I'm going to just go step by step with pictures…
Hey there. I am pretty new here and i was looking for the same answer and it is actually mentioned in the read me but i was reading it wrong :) So you have to export all of the different objects that you have as one .obj and then in marmoset you can apply different materials to the different objects (chunks) with different…
Hi all ! I've a little problem with the engine. When I load my obj, some spots seem faceted. When I import my obj in 3ds max all is fine but in the marmoset some problems appear. It looks ok with an Object space normal but with a tangent space one I can definitely see the edges.
