If the AI could learn the way a person did, then why can't it remember what.. Shrek looks like without making hideous morphed monstrosities of him over and over after getting it right a few times. Why doesn't it just spurt out a 3d model of him since it has tons of angles, it should be able to illustrate full turn tables…
Great post! I am not sure I agree with the quoted part. I think that is more like a result of over-competitive space where the employers have exploited the common youthful desire to fit-in, conform, and prove themselves to maximum extent. It is toxic and I don't think sustainable for a career, which might be part of the…
I still don't get the point of all this. I mean great if the guy gets an ego boost and some followers, besides posters and tshirts and maybe magnets, what other way is there to monetise this. And if he gets a commission besides prompting to generate something random, what does his time cost? Like I'd through a cent for the…
I was just about to post the same thing. This is a pretty big win for human artists here in the USA. If we can get more courts worldwide to agree then maybe sites like ArtStation will take the issue more seriously and stop polluting their feeds. There are literally newbies posting 3 or 4 high quality renders at a time and…
"Now enter the AI which can do digital art. Its doing the same thing as the average digital artist, which is to just produce mindless art which it can do much faster and often better. That drops digital arts value to a rock IMO." This last point is so very true IMHO - and that's probably the saddest part about the whole AI…
Digital art I think has long lost its value due to not only inherent issues such as the ability to easily duplicate files, but also issues that cropped up over time such as sheer oversaturation due to the social media mindset of 'gotta make a new piece every single day to outdo the other guy'. Ultimately all thats…
even if this succeeds in the USA, which sounds like an uphill battle to me - other countries are not obligated to do anything. If it does go through, I wonder if Artstation will adopt Youtube's DMCA filing system where it's used as a weapon against other content creators... lol
@Tiles that seems like a lot of word play to me. i think you just want to use the stuff and not think about it, which is fine. But i believe there is zero chance you will convince any artist that AI art isn't ripping them off.
automatic avatar generation is interesting, but who wants to look like a AI generated potato outside of a corporate hell environment? I think more people would prefer to commission their own avatars or make their own. There's actually a decent market for this already happening in VR and Vtuber avatars
Things being turned on by default when installing software is definitely a dark pattern. The fact that one has to read everything like a hawk is just wrong, but here we are. also 1-button-press = game-ready-retopo when? :D I would submit data for that
