Rock Sculpt in Mudbox and combined in 3D Coat. Used ProOptimiser to reduce it amd bake it down. 282 polys. :) Needs some more detail on the normal to give it some more texture, any comments? Edit: Derp, normals now flipped.
Rory_M, awesome style man! I love it! Do you have a thread with more of your stuff I can do through? Making a tilesheet (well, a modern one) for some rocks. These are the edges and corners that line mesh with a tiling texture.
Zaphk,Edrice these are some awesome stylized characters! <3 Makkon, killing it with these rock buddy! Kot_Leopold, looking good buddy. Keep it up! A little something I've been messing around with: Some more crops on my website or cghub :) Cheers
Nice rock Strkl. From me, a completed piece. 13.5K tris, with separate UVS for clothing so I can do some clothing changes. Clothing is split up, but all-together the maps equal less than a 4096 map.
Made a barnacled rock while failing at trying to figure out how to make the gameplay work in my game "Deluge"... Check out my devlog, if you get the chance! I'd love peoples ideas on how to make it cool. http://delugegame.tumblr.com/
This thread rocks .. some really outstanding work .. very inspiring! Here is an update to my Tiki man and I got around to finishing off my little Dino character, the back of him. enjoy. [SKETCHFAB]8KJyk8tfAtf3ol5lnRStic2FO3Q[/SKETCHFAB] [SKETCHFAB]kQZtnk5fhCreSBI3tJEqpB4EQ3E[/SKETCHFAB]
Here is my first sculpt in Mudbox: A rock. I used only two brushes (grab and a selfmade modification of the scrape brush). It is currently untextured but it would be great if you could tell what I could improve and how you do like it at all.
Doesn't really read as metal to me. Feels a bit too cloth-like, with a little sedimentary rock thrown in. It seems to fold, but looks quite thick. Maybe make it look more dented than folded to help with material definition. The painting itself is quite beautiful, though.
Looks great, but it looks a bit like rock? I assume you're going for metal, which would have flatter planes instead of the slight bump you've got on your surface. As I said, it looks great, it just doesn't look like the material I would expect.
Nick Carver: Your paintings/designs on page 57 rock my world!! :) duncan: that character you're working looks so fun! :D but for me the contrast in proportions is a bit too extreme and disrupts his rhythm/flow. What do you think? Warming down before bed:
