Tried some polypaint on the fox wizard but quickly realized how inflexible zbrush is in that regard. Will probably try my hand at 3D coat for this piece. And some update on the progress of the gal. Changed the hairstyle and added some quick clothes.
I like the painting job on his armor. Very nice. Was that all with Polypaint? And did your friend say why Topogun is better than Zbrush for retopo? I've tried both and not sure if one is better than the other....
Decided to go with a little bit different version than the original. So, here's the final polypainted high poly. The hat is a bit too saturated, so I'll desaturate it in PS later. Now it's time for retopology, UVs and baking then. (;
These are really cool! Love the details and colors! Are these high poly sculpt with polypaint or are they low poly assets with normal maps? I'd love to see the wireframe on these two bad boys. Your environment work is really amazing too by the way!
you can toggle the texture on and off using the texture palette - any texture can be applied to a sculpt. if you're talking about polypainting, you can turn that off in the Texture tab of the Tool, just deactivate the "colorize" button.
Hi world, this is my Yakuza artwork, which I developed during my participation in the ArtStation challenge "Neo Tokyo: Exponential Reality" in the Film/VFX Character Art category (rendered). This experience was incredibly exciting and allowed me to navigate the entire 3D pipeline, from likeness sculpting, modeling, and…
awesome lots of cool ideas. seems 3d paint is a big one. i have actually gave photoshop the boot completly and now do all my painting in bodypaint, must be crazy, but i actually like the way brushes feel more in bodypaint. and since i am suppose to be artistic translator for my programmer friend i can see myself just…
Hey Khronos, thanks a lot! For this kind of textures I use only Photoshop and Mudbox for hand painting, I am not using polypainting in this case. 3DCoat it's a great alternative for 3d hand paiting I think. Cheers
Thanks for the input, guys. Much appreciated. I changed some of the silhouette, did more sculpting and started polypainting. BTW- spines, plates, teeth and eyes are just placeholders. I have not started texturing them yet.
ooooooook- first pass on normals and textures- baked polypaint down plus xnormal cavity map and some PS cleanup- still some normal issues and seams to deal with. No tail yet- eyes are just a material and no spec.
