What software and rendering plug in are you using? In 3ds max you have an object ID. Just give your car paint one ID and everything else another and use that as a mask http://youtu.be/oSdYyCO8Gyg Put a hue and sat slider on your diffuse pass and bingo, one multicoloured car -

Right. The triangles in your toilet top and the triangles in your toilet bottom would each need a different material ID. Sets of triangles in the same entity can be assigned different materials, using material IDs in the faces to break it up, and a Multi/Sub-Object material to link the multiple materials to the single mesh. -

The problem is if you get up close, it would be low resolution? Unless I used like a 2k or 4k map, but if I have 10 VHS players then i'd need a lot of 2k or 4k textures to hold up when the camera is close. That is why I was thinking having UV1: A generic plastic tilable texture for the VHS, so I can just scale it and be… -

I've yet to have any trouble since I've started using TGA's for my Color IDs. A few of the materials don't respond to particular Color ID's right now in the Suite beta but hopefully that gets fixed soon. Is there a swatch file for the Suite, I've been using the dDo swatch fbx file for it. -

That sucks :( ...well i managed to scan and recover data from an external drive but it was a regular IDE drive plugged into a USB box (can read whatever sized drive you throw into it as well as IDE burners). If it at least shows up in hardware then you have a chance, it'll take a while to scan if it works. -

looks real nice, but id say a little too errrr pre-rendered, it doesnt have the depth of shadow in the crevices in the face that id expect, and the colour texture of the leather (name doesnt come to me) hat isnt varied enough. could do with more material detail like you have in the belt. =) -

Yeah,id agree with ndcv alot of art galleries don't allow camaras,normally it comes down to good ol' fashions pencil/pen and paper. As for you Daz,well,yes id say an art gallery would be the logical place to find an arty chick....good luck to you sir! . john
