I will be 100% honest with you. Looking at your past work and this pistol as well you really need to focus on the the basics. Especially the pipeline to creating a model. You want to test out an AK 47, but that is a very hard rifle to model as it has organic curves. I would start a new project and follow a correct…
The write ups for game art aren't as good or as solid as programming resources. There's a few reasons for it. You always need a visual example for art related terms and descriptions. Game art is constantly changing, things written even 5 years ago can be really out dated. The polycount wiki is a decent place to start, lots…
Thanks! I have no idea of what I'm doing, haha, just chasing approaches to get the artistic results I want with the least pain possible, but it's fun. ----- Thought about two alternative approaches for the base layers thing and made some progress. I'm pushing it to absurd degrees to see when it breaks and I think it's…

That’s exactly where LotPixel comes in. Over 6,000 Assets – A Massive Library for Every Creator LotPixel offers over 6,000…
I love mudbox for painting, but since PBR stuff is growing fast and Mudbox have no support for PBR. My choice to go was susbtance Painter. Mari is amazing, but mostly used for film makers. Its interface is terrible.
Ben tell me you're going to do PBR this time round? Your Atchisson was great work but it felt like it was held back as a pure show piece by staying with previous-gen DSGN maps and not going PBR (and by the 1024 textures as well).
Hi guys, I tried and test some PBR materials. And it is really interesting and cool to test. So, here our new mesh with a pre-made PBR material : The material on our rock mesh. We've added some displacements on it with Blender :
Hey everyone! I began this project tonight and I thought for the first time I would start an actual thread and show what I'm doing throughout the process. For this project I'll be making a smallish diorama of Val'Sharah, a forested area in World of Warcraft Legion. My goals with the project are to try to emulate the…
