Hi ! First thanks for your comments, i've made a fresh start, with an axe this time, i tried to avoid as many seems as possible Here's the basemesh Her's my " high " poly I baked the map with xNormal Here's the normal map But as you can see i have some issues Is it because of the bad retopo or bad normal map ?
Hey deohboeh, I think you're off to a nice start! One thing that jumped at me is that your textures seem to be uneven. For example, your axe is quite detailed (although the metal part seems too noisy to me). While on the other hand, the skin of your character is very uniform. That's something you might wanna work on. Keep…
Personally, I would put a scalexyz controller on your scale, then have a seperate float expression on the x y and z channels. Then say the X is the length of your bone, have a expression on there that factors in your distances in order give you lengthening/shortening. Then also have the fatness of the squash and stretch…
Finally had the time to move continue working on this. I added now a Marmorset Viewer with the real time model and baked maps to artstation -> https://www.artstation.com/artwork/DEX5A Texturing is next on the list. I guess I will start with the ax to have some practice with Substance Painter before moving on to the…
If you wanted to get around the flickery wings wihtout having to bring in motion blur, you could try smearing out the vertices as they animate like Valve do with the melee weapons in Left 4 Dead (the fire axe is a nice example). It'd take some fiddling about get it looking nice, but I think it could work here.
I always offset half. So I seek scripts that avoid me having to type in values. I switch between different resolutions constantly, so an automatic half is much faster than re-typing a value. I doubt people are looking for custom offset values. Although it is nice to offset halfway in either one or two axes.
I've never really run into this issue as most of my movement in different axes is done in orthagraphic or snapping it to the grid But this page may be of some help, it doesn't exactly fix the problem your having but has a pretty useful script which may make the move tool more useful for you:…
The melee weapons killed it for me. I won't be buying this. L4D is about sticking together as a team and gunning down zombies. If I want to go hit zombies with frying pans I'll go play Dead Rising. So now we are going to have teammates running off with the axe trying to melee a tank instead of sticking with the team.
Hi, I was wondering if I could get some professional critiques on the work that I have done for this character so far. I have recently decided to trade the sword in for an axe that I currently started working on, I feel it will suit this character better than a sword that looks like it came straight out of Gandalfs…
Hello guys, Just made this thread to put all of my environment/prop stuff into as I make them. I've recently done a little asset creation practice. I took a Blizzard sketch and made this axe. This is a shot taken from 3DSMax viewport (no specular) and I was hoping to get a little feedback on the general look and the…
