http://freesdk.crydev.net/display/SDKDOC3/Dirt+Layer http://freesdk.crydev.net/display/SDKDOC2/Blend+Layer In the forest level included in the free SDK, most of the buildings use one or both of these methods to add detail such as paint to wood. Look through the material editor, see what settings are used and tweak them to…
Thanks everyone! leleuxart, It's pre-baked AO & normals. I'll try to decrease AO brightness. I'm not sure. It looks fine for me already. And yes, balloon has detail normal map. There are few good detail bump maps in forest scene. I took one of them. The most frequently asked question was a question about pipe from gondola…
Thank you EasterIslandNick for the notes. I had some time this week to build out a better forest floor for player movement. Added an overgrown path around the ship and gave the ship a door for entry. It's difficult to get a shot showing a good path for player traversal while also showing a chunk of the environment because…
This is amazing! What are your inspirations/references? I can definitely see a very blizzard - ish style (Overwatch, WoW). If this is what you're going after, you might want to lower down the details of the normals in your materials. In your material testing, in the third screenshot ( forest) you can see clearly the tiny…
Pompey?! Big Naval town. Prepare to be beaten up You can see some ships and stuff: http://www.flagship.org.uk/welcome.html Take a ferry to the isle of Wight perhaps. If you can travel a little definitely see the New Forest. It is beautiful. Bournemouth a little further up the coast is pretty nice too:…
The short legs and big head gives him an appearance of a midget. Sit back for a bit and analyze what makes orc proportions "orc proportions", do you know what i'm sayin? compare the with of shoulders to the width of waist, head size compared to shoulders etc. I'd recommend getting the paul bonner book "out of the forest",…
I'm getting an "Alice in Wonderland" meets "Deliverance" feel. The only criticism I have at the moment is that I'm having a hard time getting a sense of scale in the environment. I have no reference point or object at the moment to tell me what size everything is. Right now everything could be tiny or huge - I have idea.…
I feel that the tree roots to the left are very noisy atm. Maybe add a Road sign there instead. A Road sign with a flag that is torn.. or maybe it's bloody, some kind of story. Also, the fog should start a Lil bit further away from the camera. Here's a old thread by @Shirk…
mount and blade: training a huge army of heavily armoured swadian knights, and watch them flatten 50 forest bandits in less than 10 seconds. solo-raiding villages, and having a hundred angry peasants attack you with sticks and stones. then cutting them all down with a large 2-handed sword. TF2: on the servers with cheater…
There is a ton of thumbnails where the druid kinda disapear in the background (B2, 4A, 4B, 5B for ex) which is not good. I would choose some of those where the character contrasts the most with the background. Personally, I would have pick the 2B because the warm brown attracts the eye on the character and it stands out…
