The required count depends on the size of the area you're painting on, the level of detail you're looking to get, and how efficient the vertices are distributed across the mesh. A million might not even be enough if most of those verts are in the wrong place, or the detail you require is too small. A general rule of thumb… -

The trial version I used is limited to 50k, I've heard that's going up to 65k in the 2015 version, but I'm not 100% sure. I wouldn't be surprised to see a cell phone contract model with the Durango (and maybe the PS4 will do the same) - they've done test runs with the 360 and I've heard that it worked out great. The iPhone5 16gb without a contract runs about $650 -
