Hi everyone. I'm a 3D Artist living in Turkey. I did this work using the Blender 2.90 software. I wonder your comments on the values. I love 3D Modeling, Painting and Game Art. Any PC game that has a frame rate cap really bothers me. Every PC title should allow 120+ fps, have a FOV slider if it's a first person title, support any standard resolution, but we're seeing a lot of games skip out on those features lately.
Sorry for the late update, been swamped with school game project. Started working on the lowpoly, UV-mapping it now. With sword and all, just below 12k tris, which is my limit, so I think I'm doing fine. More updates to come! After UV comes the texture!
Thank you the polycount is on 129 now, i think i understood it right? I tried to find some wireframes from buildings in games like Assassin Creed, without luck! But my last problem is that the window frame is inside the house, but if i put it in it will show off wrong. Is there a solution there?
This comment fixed the launcher issue for me. https://www.cryengine.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=125&t=133563&sid=c63f0dd8c11d54d5e7d07f14c05298d2&start=75 "Finally got this fixed, if you still have the issue go to Users/yourusername/AppData/Local and delete the CryEngine Launcher folder, it launches fine after that "
I usually just Dot the fresnel with the LightVector and that makes it for me besides that I see a big difference in the face's specularity, for which you will at least need a specular glossiness map (use it as alpha in a lerp between 1 and, say, 128 - then connect to the spec power input) great model btw
http://www.loonygames.com/content/1.6/totb/ and http://www.bakaneko.com/howto/computer/3d/character/page01.html are pretty good tutorials. However I'd say the best place to start is to just...well...start. Block out the character with primitives and model over top of that if you have to, just practice.
I installed ObjectDock a little while ago. It uses these crispy oversized icons, so I made these two for my dock to fit in with some of the ones it comes with. <a href="https://i44.tinypic.com/ddj5ma.jpg">link</a> I made them at 256x256 "just in case", but I use them as 128s.
