I used symmetry a bunch, so maybe that's what caused the problem with the high poly? If I have this all the way down to 12k polys, maybe I will add some more geo back in to some of the round shapes. Thanks for all the advice so far guys!
I love the wallpaper cycling :) Anyway, I recently build a new rig with a 128 gig SSD, and have my OS and all my apps on it. Everything runs like butter and opens super fast. I'm no tech expert, but I would recommend going that route.
@Klash-120 Thanks! So I have pretty much completed the textures. I'll most likely be changing the colour palette to match the top image in the first post but I'll do that once I've posed her. My main aim is to keep everything looking 'crisp'.
Well, 600 x 120 is 72k objects, but I get your point; it's a lot of objects. I think you're going to need to simplify your scene. Or break it up into smaller chunks. I've never used Containers, but it's supposedly used for breaking up large scenes.
rick beat me to it =P yeah, I think its mostly 64/128 tiling textures with a combination of vertex coloring and alpha maps for lighting. not really sure what psx supported... only things with non-tiling textures are props, but it really depends on the prop too.
I avoid gambling unless it's just a poker game with friends or a tournament (came in 25th out of over 120 people last time). I just don't trust myself to play the slots or the tables since I know I'll spend way too much money.
That sounds close. The poly count for the mudbox model was about 5 million, then i polycrunched it down to about 1.3 million polygons. When using polycrunch you want to get that count down to about 25% of the original. It should still have all the detail in there even at that much.
Yeah...found the console commands... set g_fov 120 com_showfps 1 about 30 fps, with tweaked doom3 autoexec from gamefaqs.com...MP is playable (on my dad's pc...FX5700LE), but i'm going to buy a new pc (my Ti4200 has had it's peak now )...
Here you go Virtuosic, try these. http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/120/98960488.jpg http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/8069/88318031.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/4416/71428541.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/6295/18263401.jpg -Buddikaman
ffs, if someone really wants to test their fear limit, come ride backseat in my cessna and then sue me afterwards when the prop cuts your legs off as we go flying through the front cockpit glass as we smash into the runway at about 120 knots.
