There was a bug in the autodesk exporter, where tris of meshes with multiple materials where multiplied by that amount. This was fixed with the FBX plugin 2013.2. There is also an update for the OpenCollada plugin for Maya 2013, but it crashes here. Hope this helps

if it was saved as max 2013 , why arent you opening the maxfile ? Fbx imo is a horrible format since you have to guess wich version the orig was saved and usually borks something along the way.

This is my first post on polycount, so I'm hoping to have lots of room for improvement and feedback. My first WIP shot of my goblin creature I'm building for school. Using Maya 2013, about 2 hours in so far.
