3th and 7th the proportions are off. 5th is the most classical thus most boring. I like the the 1st and 2nd where the 2nd has the most "realistic style". The 4th is also cool - 'goblin with shark teeth' and with the 6th you have 'goblin with metal jaw or part metal/flesh jaw'.
Yeah I got the occlusion but when exporting a fbx mesh out of max with a 2nd uv channel the occlusion is using the 1st channel. In tool bag 1 it uses the 2nd channel. I see with the cavity there is an option to use 0 or 1 set but it doesnt seem to switch.
Hello! We are looking for a 2D artist/animator and a 3D modeler for a new project. The scope of the project is to be a 2.5D sidescroller using the art and play-style of Dust: An Elysian Tale and the storytelling method of Broken Age. This game will be heavily story-based as the game-play switches between a young brother…
Not bad for a first attempt! Some thoughts: You are relying too much on line and literal representations of elements. This means you are DRAWING elements on the texture instead of PAINTING or SCULPTING them with light and color. This gives it a graphical feel, more like a comic book drawing and less like a 3D…
I'm in a situation similar to what most people have already mentioned, seems to be a trend. I went to uni for 3 years with the thought of getting a degree to help my chances in a job search and basically just help me into a more focussed study. Well, the first half happened, the 2nd not so much. The course I was shoehorned…
This is a great start, really liking it! That torso then leg turn timing offset is perfect on the midair hit. In the anticipation for the first swing, I'd say to delay the head's tilt backward a few frames more. As well as give more time to the hand's attachment to club. It can help lead the eye to finally rest at the…
The size is somewhat of a concern only because of the DPI scaling issues I am reading about with the original surface, although I hear Win 8.1 will work to address that. My expectations for Cry3 and UDK would only really be for assembling environment art for portfolio, not for playing games. (Mostly static stuff to, in…
Okay some more tests.. made a normal map and put it on a decal actor so I could break up some of the repetition without using a new mesh. It has to be a flat surface because the decal uses planar projection and it stretches over curved surfaces. also shading is kinda messed up apparently I need to enable DBuffer in UE4 so…
Yes, sounds like you're on the right track. Your basemesh should be 100% quads, and try to avoid "poles" of 5+ edges running into each other since that can lead to "pinching" in the model when sculpting. Keep the quads a fairly uniform density over the body, and be clever about adding more detail where it will be necessary…
Eh!? Did you mean cira, as in the Latin word for approximate? Like cira 600 BC? Or are you talking about tech? Ya lost me there... I agree about the sound and feel, its probably why most people will add a electric car to their garage but it won't out right replace the traditional car. All this electric car talk has made me…
