Valkyrie is looking for some help on the character front ranging from low poly old school handpainted to gritty next gen. Must be able to take assets from concept to completion and show strong anatomical skills. jobs at valent dot us
Hey there, I've been working on this for the last couple of days. The mesh is 1080 tris, textures are mostly 128x128, all handpainted. It's for a hobby project of me and a friend programmer making an oldschool-ish adventure game, ala zelda oot. Crits highly welcome:)
Hey everyone, Retopos done, here's the result of braum's shield texture. I will do color correction when all texture jobs are finished. Im newbie for handpaint but im learning with this. C&C's are welcome everytime. Thanks.
@Kapoff Great stuff man. @klown Is it just me, or his body seems pretty long compared to his arms ? Note to myself: Never do another character old-school/handpainted style... Never Ever Again...
I know you could handpaint normals before, but with the AO, cavity and all the other bells and whistles it seems like a really attractive alternative to sculpting now. Great job! Did this real quick all in PS + nDo2
tsabszy, lol man, thanks a lot))) But this is good old handpaint... I rly like hardsurf in the middle. Lonewolf rule as always.) Venom by michael milano realy impressive. Also Woman Hulk makes me crying. xD
excuse me for the crude post, english is not my first language. either way, i have interest in the subject because the textures back then weren't entirely handpainted but not fully photo-slapped too. which made things intresting
kinda the same here, i use 3dcoat for a lot of stuff tho, handpainted textures, tweaking lowpoly models, easy uving, retopo, rock formation shapes, and when I need to prototype hardsurface stuff is also good.
Yeah, a list of the usernames + url + what kind of art would be awesome. That's a great idea. We could add things like: Environment, Probs, Characters, Guns, Vehicles, Stylized, PBR, Handpainted, Realistic ect. I'd help to start such a list.
mostly crits on the textures. they are basically flat colors, no hue or value shifts, no material definition, things are mostly just colored differently. what style are you going for btw? right now its looks like dota 2 or modern handpainted.
