Pang: You're jumping into texture waayy too early. IMO, that model still looks nothing like Zach Quinto, even with his face photo plastered on it, which is a bad sign. I think you need to sculpt until it looks recognizable. Then work on the texture.
Hey I'm Zack , I'm new to this forum and just got Maya 2014. I really want to learn how to make 3d models in this program and than move them in Zbrush so I can sculpt them. So..are there any good tutorials and where can I find them? :) Thanks.
Hi there! Here’s a music video created by the Dutch studio for animation & design: Annie Made It. I created the music and they provided the video. I’m very curious what you think of the 3D animation in this movie made with Blender?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbCAG7-UZPo Chrs! Martijn van der Zande Thumbnail
@apollo580 shoot them a message and let them know! I'd love to see this site pick up a bit more steam. I'd like a collection of stylized assets. @Zack Maxwell That's awesome, hopefully I'll be running into my stuff on there someday (When its good enough)
Polycount was my last resort, hah (trying to laugh about it) I didn't explain the situation very well though. I just need a roommate for the month of August. I have a room setup for Sept 1 but my August one fell through. Zack
Thanks Zack, I do have a tendency to go overboard with my Specs, especially trying to make these mini comps look good. And this is definitely going to be a rusted over/ grimy scene. I'll grunge up the fences more in the future and not make them so "perdy".
@Zack Maxwell Yeah, every IQ test I've done online gave me a score of around 125. I'm not dumb, but 125 is pretty above average, considering 50% of the population is <100. All my friend's got scores above 120. Online IQ tests are ineffective.
Can I duplicate Mudbox materials? For instance, I have the same piece on both sides of my mesh. I want to duplicate the material to apply it to the other side so I can make different variations on it. I don't want to have to remake all the layers again, if necessary. Thanks Polycounters, Zack Dembinski
Switching between zsub and zadd seams the way to go. It helps to fill in holes and areas that start to cave in. I hoped that zbrush would have a built in brush feature that only affects a certain angle range from where it first touches the sculpt (similar to backface masking).
Just a tip, but a good way to get that layered look in zb is to use the trim smooth border brush and put it on spray. Then just pic a flat surface and start brushing all over while alternating your zsub and zadd. not the best example, but i hope ya get the idea.
