I think we should have a suggested list of monitors, keyboards, and mice. But the builds should be more like $700, $1300, $1700, $2300, +monitor and keyboards and extra HDD's.
The money sounds OK. Should leave you with about 1600-1700 per month after tax (tax is pretty high 33-42% on that part of the scale). I think you should be able to live off that.
Heh, since I posted that two years ago, house prices in that area have risen by nearly 30%. The same place would set you back around 1700 now. I don't live there anymore.
Small update. I think I fianlly got right textures (at least right direction). I will be doing two versions one with distorted wood beams and one with straight. Here is a new building: about 1700 polys:
Yeah, I would look for new. I got mine for 150000 yen on sale (down from 220,000). They are going for $1700 now in the States, so I would bet there is one somewhere for $1500, even $1400 somewhere.
Yo ! :) there's a 50% discount on all my tools going on for anyone who bought the 9$ "Get Faster in Maya" tutorial by Wiktor Öhman :) this is a good opportunity to catch Mesh Blend for only 17.5$ instead of 35$, :) Download tutorial
I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 that I'm selling on craigslist to cut the cost of the laptop that sonic posted. Hopefully I can get it soon and tell you how it is, though the reviews on newegg seem to be very very good!
Spotting Easter Eggs in various games like Division 2, Bleeding Edge, Batman Arkham Knight, and more always brings a smile to my face. 1B05 & 1B07 are lecturer rooms from the Games Art courses at the University of Hertfordshire. ;)
After checking out http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80005 I couldn't keep myself from changing the topology on my hacker. Changed her features as well. She went from about 1600 tris to 1750.
Kwakkie: that's what I'm saying, 1700 min as a Sr. 3000 brutto pretty much equates to that I guess. Xeno: 4 times rent seems a bit much here in Europe, it's more along 3 times I think.
