Awesome work everyone. SO it's been a long time since I posted anything. I really wanted to draw something purely for art sake, so here is a study from a black and white photo, lots of fun was had :)
Realized finally that painting CAN be fun, I just need to do it more. Made this guy: Any tips? I feel like I have a lot of trouble adding contrast, and as a result, volume. Any good tutorials or articles on these things?
Thanks guys! @Stinger88 - cool! try doing an ostrich mech in mid run, or a horse. @knacki - cool man, mechs are fun but like everything they take a bit of practice to get used to, especially if you dont usually draw mechanical stuff.
Makkon, Stinger: I'm a fire beast, rawr... Here's something recent. Channeled my inner 90s kid and came up with this. Started up a small forum and we're having a fun design challenge making up a dark medieval world.
Been doing some cyberpunk sort of stuff. Also exploring doing pixel work, gonna try animating this guy a bit [edit] rough first pass, needs more work, but this is kinda more fun than I thought it would be :o
Been sick as a dog since after new years, had enough energy today to try out my new cintiq properly. Tried something different too. Much more fun way to work that's for sure... though I should be asleep.
@braingraft your character sets are super nice. Last one and the three Zombie turtle thingies are my fav.! Very funny. Me, I lost myself a bit in this raven stuff. Fun to paint. So I tried to bring it to the next level.
Haha, yep! The blog went "viral" for a short while (got tons of submissions) and then died down. Haven't gotten any submissions for a while now, but it was good fun while it lasted :P Small world! Great sketches! Your work overall is very impressive. :)
You're all wizards! So much awesome stuff in here. Study. Must've been 4 or 5 hours, which seems like an awful long time. Is that an awful long time? Probably is. Didn't feel it until after. But it was fun, so hey ho.
Here are some skull studies. Lotsa fun I wouldn't mind some critique on the lines and shading methods; those are areas I feel I'm struggling with. Lots of my drawings are sloppy looking and I'm trying to get a more crisp, professional feel to them :/
