Janne - nice work man :) nightz - Cool, its a nice run cycle with a lot of style! Using Maya, still trying to learn good timing and pose, etc. Think its just a case of practice makes perfect :D
Now that I have some more time at work I'm getting again started on those settler-like characters. I know I forgot the polycount (156 polys) and a wireframe, but it is more a texture practice than a modelling one.
Ive made some lowpoly diner food for some modelling practice - took me about a week of evenings. Ive put them up on the unity asset store if you'd like a closer look. https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/39320
Hello everyone, this'll be my first post here on Polycount. Been looking through these past almost 400 pages, and it's inspired me to create some quick, low tech assets, for a small C# practice project. Thanks for all of the inspiration!
Here's my texturing practice on lowpoly head. Model is made by Ilja Japhir Kocken( great LP artist  ), texturing is dane by me... Also first post here ! :poly124: I'll finish him soon :) C&C are welcome ...
With a model that simple the easiest way to reduce the count would just be to remake the handle from scratch. It's a cylinder with a couple of extrusions, it should only take a moment to remake. If it doesn't only take a moment then that's a good sign you need the practice anyways.
Here is a low poly model I made. Mosty for practice working with a 128x128 texture, never tried it before:poly110: It was hard to get it to look right because I only had the front image and i'm used to having atleast a front and side.
@EbonyStallion: I'd encourage you to try to eliminate as many polys as possible next time and practice painting in folds either through normals/displacement and/or diffuse. Try to see how the better manga artists add significant complexity with just simple lines.
Beginnings of my first video game project. I needed a style I could make entirely on my own, and now I've settled on something. Churning out some textures to practice the look before I move on to actually doing the objects!
model Giving a try at some hand painted textures, as well as some practice making usable models out of my concept sketches. Painted on model in blender, I suck at picking colours and I have a seriously inconsistent shading, but its a start.
