Keen: Good work, really captured the gears feel. I second what Jordan mentioned. Mike: Really nice brickwork man. Judging from your previous work, you've had a good deal of practice with the subject I'm curious, when you bake out your normals, are you going to be creating unique uv space for everything we see?
While handpainting textures is very noble, and really cool if it can be pulled off, it's not really practical to handpaint everything in textures anymore. The results/time it takes to just use photo textures as a base pays off in the end. Again, not saying hand painting is bad or anything, just way more reasonable to do…
i don't really know what it is. it's an enviroment piece i can practice texturing. it's based off of an idea i had for a slanted tower for a weapon pickup area. it could be a wepon testing device, it could even be a huge weapon. i was playing with the idea of putting it on a track. just kinda going at it. what's it look…
Here is a texture I have been using as practice creating normal maps in modo. This program is great I'm having a load of fun using it. The images are scaled down from 2048. I will be using them at 1024 if these do end up becoming part of a project. Also I've started a new personal portfolio and possible band wagon rant…
[ QUOTE ] Martin, I assume you're modeling from an Airsoft gun? If you want it to look like a real Remington 870, lose the magazine. [/ QUOTE ] The pic i used as ref is indeed an airsoft gun, doesnt really matter to me tho as its just a practice piece to learn normalmap workflow and such. Its not going to be used for…
pior: that's adorable, ever experiment with using a few 128s and more creative uv mapping? It's a good way to push portable characters on a technical level. Intense stuff Kevin. Normal Mapping Doodle, 3x128x128 normal maps, no diffuse or specs here. All generated fom high poly meshes and manipulated in photoshop. I've been…
super that looks bit like rod steiger Geezus, was thinking perhaps the bricks could be slight more saturated. looking a bit pastel right now earthquake, looking good. can we see some wires? Anyway here is my latest piece. based on the same base as my last pimp, but hopefully looking slighty more moody. Need to do more on…
Back again. I posted a seperate thread for my skaven so I dont overpost. Nice work on the gay Quakeman Johny thats some hotness. Dizzy: I love the skin tone on that. If you have any tuts or feel like sending me a private message I would love to hear your technique. I need to practice my skin some. Nice stuff all around. -J

@thomasp: [ut2k4]HOLY SHIIIIIT[/ut2k4] that is hawt, i agree with the thumb being a tab bit short, possible some of the fingers too. Other than that it looks great, you might needs to change the butt "slighty". I wouldn't mind if you left it as is. Wires maybe? Always neat to see how dense high poly stuff like that looks…
