Alpha Island v1 -I've switched to real world units. The island is around 700 meters squared. -The town has less buildings than the prototype. -Still playing around with the object placement. -Will be adding a small forest along with some rocks for the beach. Here are some progress shots... I'm planing on 4 terrain materials at minimum, Mud(+ wet version), Rock, Forest Floor and Dirt w/ sticks. If I need more after those I'll cross the bridge when I get to it. Here are the solid rock and mud textures. The both use height map blending and the mud has a wet version. -

I've been doing Jacob Norris' tutorial for forest ground, and it's really getting me used to the whole pipeline for texturing something of the like. Nice pace to follow as well, I'm not having to pause the video or speed it up. @leflix I'll check out the pillar sculpting tutorial, looks cool! I've been getting into… -

I double checked, and shadows are on. I'm using a lighting preset - Forest Ambiance, there really isn't a strong key light to cast strong/defined… -

You mean like run? Through a forest? Fight? Etc etc? Anyways, I was just pointing it out, but I don't really care anymore than I cared with the female knight one. Mostly I'm just giving you a hard time. My own portfolio is filled with its own impracticalities where design were valued over function. -

haha- yeah, I think we just got excited with DOF- cause it's actually in real time :D but well noted. As for the grass- we actually thought of using dynamic grasses and we did see Koola's forest demo , we simply didn't had enough time to make in our project - hopefully in our next update :] thank you for the comments! -

i just figured out how to get my mesh into the cryengine. collision isn't working for some reason. It was working fine when I dropped my massout into the forest map. But when I made a map from scratch, nothing i am putting down has collision. Anyways, look its amazing! - mass out in engine -woot -

I went to Puerto Vallarta in october (old town, like real mexico, but has resorts in the newer, northern area). It's on the west coast, has a lot of nice things to see and do, such as the rain forest where they filmed Predator. But, the area isn't for everybody.
