DH, I'm pretty sure you can download a free plugin for Max6 to render normal maps in scanline renderer. It's called "GNormal". You can find it here: http://www.3dmaxer.dk/plugins.asp?r=5
BlackulaDZ: did you ever get this error after you compile the map? The gun model is colored. I only have 2 lights in the room and a reflection probe entity. http://www.3dwasabi.com/shared/coloredgun.jpg
I should Probably Mention Im building a Low poly WW2 Arcade style Tank Game. So models are relativly High Poly. I hope to continue adding more to the textures. Its also one of my first attempts to Actually Texutre A model
I don't represent the company but I do work here, and looks like they saturated a whole page of positions. Related is mid-senior modeling td's, texture artists, and riggers. There more on the forum posted on may17 http://www.2-popforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121288
@delarobe Thanks. I didn't model in the hole in the bottom because the variation I modeled didn't have a hole. At the end of WWI and through WWII there have been many variations. I am modeling the variation that was made during WWII.
Iceland and Germany both had their own Cultures of Madness..they got through it..I'm sure we will too. You should check out The White Ribbon, Poop. Great German film about the Protestant oppression in Germany before WWI
This might help - http://www.11secondclub.com/ If you are still stuck come here :)http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68766 We got animation lecturers that go as far back as Roger Rabbit such as the one and only Kevin Molloy
On PC lately I've been playing War Thunder, a pretty simple but well done WW2 flight combat game. It is *quite* grindy and the pay to unlock scheme is quite pricey, so I probably will stick to just playing it casual.
for period designs I highly recommend the "Arms and Uniforms" series by L&F Funcken. The books range anywhere from the age of chivalry to ww2 etc. Fully illustrated and, many times, broken down to individual pieces with descriptions of their usage.
That did it, thank you for your help :) Just in case anyone with the same problem finds this thread: The 3 point shader thing mentioned here is this: http://www.3pointstudios.com/3pointshader_lite.shtml The .fx file I had to edit was 3ps-standard.fx.
