That r_fletch_r script is probably the best way to resize, but the Transform Toolbox is similar, and already built into Max (at least since 2010?). Here is a small sphere of random size that made match the 64 unit cube.
There might be script support for those, or in the SDK if you're adventurous. Better to work out scale issues before starting a project, but yeah I've been in your boat too before, only it wasn't Maya.
Edit: Oops sorry I just realised you wanted something for Maya 6 not Max 6 :P. Here is a Max script to enable rendering of vertex colours... http://www.jonseagull.com/downloads.shtml#toggleVCs
cool. i think its the skin modifier thats causing the problems. this is the script: http://www.dejawolf.com/mountblade/MBexporter.rar i thought it was going to be a simple fix.. instead its turned out to be a nightmare to fix.
That works for me, Thnom, maybe you've got a conflicting Greasemonkey script or something? i've allready said it, but i like it, ben. The menu's a lot better now, and i really like the 3d page.

are you talking about chuggnut's unwrap tool? i think it should already work for max 9. the website is: http://www.chuggnut.com and a direct link to the download: http://www.chuggnut.com/scripts/unwraptools/unwraptools1.4.zip
WOW. thats quite funny. i had it on main UI and All commands, silly me for thinking it would be in there! seems like 3ds is falling apart. with the help of scripts to keep it walking. Thanks Vig
open the max script reference and search for unwrap_uvw it should be in there somewhere. you might want to look at textools. i think this is covered allready. its definately in chuggnuts uv tools. both are excellent downloads
It's a definite bug. The head programmer here at Gas Powered has sent in a bug report and wrote a small script for the artists to make sure that bipeds always get put into figure mode before saving.
