      i tihnk id just tone done the very large detail to 0 and large to about 20-40 and it looks like you used a color vs height for it so id recommend turning shape recognition off

      I like it, but id say the top needs more details. The general rule of thumb is the lower you go down the body the lower the detail should be. I like the details in the boots so id add more to the top.

      I don't completely understand what your trying to do.. Sounds like just having multiple material IDs like DeadlyFreeze said.. Just remember about multiple material ID's use an additional draw call for that mesh.

      These Crytek guys are unbelievable. I would go as far to say that they are the new id Software. What id Software were doing for the games industry (technology wise) 10 - 15 years ago, Crytek are doing now. Amazing. -caseyjones
