Alright dude, I'm going to call your bluff, what is happening here is a motte-and-bailey fallacy essentially a moving of the goalposts. Already you've told us what you think, that the character Key is a 0 out of 10 (super ugly). That her looks are not only ugly, but worthy of scorn by speculating on her fictional parents…
So I started modeling the robo hand. Figured rigging it first before modeling would be a smart idea, and here I just instanced some parts and parented them to the joints. Probably won't put that much detail into this since it's not the focus of the character really.

Directional light was quick to add via menu, creat, light, then apply to an object. In a similar way I added a few camera angles. Menu, create, add camera, "pick parent" (right menu that comes up) click on the object you wish it to follow.
This might be something different, but make sure when you export your mesh from Maya the object isn't parented under any groups or all that stuff goes with it into Unity. Also make sure you're using the Export Selected option and not Export All.
[ QUOTE ] Xbox360 should have been Xbox2 [/ QUOTE ] Actually, calling it Xbox2 could give parents the impression that the Playstation3 is a superior machine. I think naming it something other than Xbox2 was a smart marketing move. Not to say that Xbox360 was the right decision though.
reiro : those material are material instances, if you want to see how things are connected, check their parent material :) the same master material was used for pretty much all the props. The gloss wasn't in the alpha of the spec btw, but in a separate texture IIRC.
I'm curious what you were doing with the USB stick? Trying to load MP3s? Ipads are great for parents because there's virtually no way they can break them. And that means you'll never get a 'tech support' call from them about it.
What else did you expected, this movie is for the 10 - 15 yearsold ... some 30 yearold folks playing computer games living in his parent basement will never like anything like that. Who here had hopes of this being good ?
as for your mom, parents have a hard time seeing game making as a legitimate life, my mom was worried i was making a mistake leaving a secure job a t a sawmill for it. but my dad saw the posibility and suported me fully in the move.
